| free to a good home |
[Apr. 15th, 2009|02:19 pm] |
i've just listed clementine on a couple of websites. sniffle.
i figure it'll be a while til i get any response, and by then i'll know whether i'm keeping her or giving her away. but i think deep down in my heart i know that the best thing for her might be to give her a new home. i am wondering now whether the girl i got clementine from gave her away for the same reason. i am also beginning to understand that its possibly me. i have been doing some reading and stress is a big factor in pet behavioural problems. things like moving furniture or bringing new people into the house can be very stressful to pets, and i have done these things often. perhaps i stress her out. perhaps i am not home enough to giver her what she needs. i dont know. but i am stressed out about this so much i want to cry. i will find her a good home and a lovely new owner and i will make the person a deal that if clementine is ever not wanted by them, to let me know and i will take her back.
sniffle.
meanwhile, does anyone want a cat? she's really beautiful and i honestly do believe that she would be easily trained in a new home. she was fine when i first got her, i think it was me shopping her off to friends places for holidays and moving my stuff around and bringing strange boys home that got to her. and now, she'll never be re-trainable in my house because she smells the poo on the floor and goes back there. i dont think her new mummy and/or daddy would have the same problems i have had. so if anyone would like to take her, free to a good home, please let me know.
again, sniffle. |

[Feb. 25th, 2009|02:57 pm] |
its the first time ever that anybodys tagged me in a meme so it'd be rude not to do the meme now wouldnt it?
Think of 20 albums that had such a profound effect on you that they changed your life or the way you looked at it. They sucked you in and took you over for days, weeks, months, years. These are the albums that you can use to identify time, places, people, emotions. These are the albums that, no matter what they were thought of musically, shaped your world. When you finish, tag 20 others, including me. Make sure you copy and paste this part so they know the drill. Get the idea now? Good.
in no particular order....
1. elton john - goodbye yellow brick road 2. the whitlams - eternal nightcap 3. nirvana - bleach 4. faith no more - king for a day, fool for a lifetime 5. you am i -hi fi way 6. crowded house - recurring dream 7. guns n roses - use your illusion 1 & 2 8. machine gun fellatio - bring it on 9. hunters & collectors - human frailty 10. kylie minogue - kylie 11. madonna - like a virgin 12. clouds - EP (EPs count right?) 13. ratcat - tingles 14. spiderbait - ivy and the big apples 15. billy joel - the stranger 16. ben folds five - whatever and ever amen 17. leonard cohen - best of 18. lou reed - transformer 19. lemonheads - its a shame about ray 20. violent femmes - violent femmes
i tag.....all of you! |

[Jan. 21st, 2009|12:20 pm] |
Pillow Talk Tim Freedman has recently completed a sold out national solo tour in which he combined archival images of his past loves with the songs he wrote about them, and also an explanation of why they were written. Tim enjoyed presenting these intimate shows so much he was inspired to seek out his closest friends for an evening of secret men’s business. Pinky Beecroft (Machine Gun Fellatio & The White Russians), David McCormack (formerly of Custard, now David McCormack & The Polaroids) and Perry Keyes (chronicler of Sydney's inner city and winner of Radio National's Album Of The Year) were quizzed by Tim about their tales of love and lust - what we would have given to be a fly on the wall that night.
From there it was a hop, skip and a jump to the idea that yes, these four fine friends are all lovers of women and they like declaring such in song. Having sold over a million albums between them the boys have the war wounds, the one liners and the songs to fill a teenager's diary. Observe Beecroft’s “Pussytown” and “Unsent Letter” , Freedman's "No Aphrodisiac", McCormack’s new “A.V.O” and the old classic “Anatomically Correct”, and Keyes' love song for “Fairfield Girls” (though generally he prefers to stick to single mothers on methadone wheeling prams). For two special nights at the Basement, four of Australia's most interesting songwriters join forces for the first time with a hand-picked backing band to tell their tales of love won and lost, of spare parts for broken hearts, of lust and the lack, and of the stuff that wet dreams are made of. Urbane and slightly insane, these troublemakers can't wait to tell you how it is, of the women they've loved and the women they wished had loved them back. Until Feb 7 early bird tickets are $35 plus booking fee. Thereafter tickets will be $42 plus booking fee. When: Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March Where: The Basement, Reiby Place, Sydney Tickets: Dinner and Show 02 9251 2797 General Admission online at www.thebasement.com.au |
